THE RIGHT MIX
Take a loaf of bread; ask the children what makes up this bread. As kids name what is in it, show the ingredient. Each ingredient is necessary, yeast causes the bread to rise, if you don’t add yeast; your dough won’t rise. Without salt, the bread won’t have much flavor. If you don’t add flour the bread has no body to it. All ingredients are important for special bread.
EYE ON THE BALL
Ask the children which one of them thinks they can hit the ball, call up the volunteer. Give him the bat, and then blindfold him. When they say they can’t hit the ball blindfolded, ask why not? ‘Keeping your eye on the ball’ has been a long standing saying, you may have heard your parents, coach or teacher say it more than once. When we are blindfolded we lose sight of the ball, just as being blindfolded loses sight of Jesus. We need to constantly keep our eye on Jesus.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
Take two places of string or yarn, one much longer than the other. Ask for a volunteer, wrap the string once around the wrists of the child. When we are alone in this world it is harder to fight against sin. We can easily break and fall into temptation. Let the child break the string. Wrap the child’s wrist several times with the yarn. Now when we stand with our friends we can encourage others to stand up against sin. Allow the child to try to break the string or yarn. There is strength in numbers, when we see our friends struggling with sin, we should stand with them and help them overcome.
GLUED TOGETHER
Loyalty means to stand together with each other through thick and thin. Take a Popsicle stick or tongue depressor, this stick represents one person. When sin comes against one person, he may break. Break the stick. But as we stand together as Christians and friends, we are much tougher. Show the sticks that are taped together. Ask for a volunteer to come forward, have them try to break the sticks.

THE TRUSTING CHAIR
Have two adults come to the front of the classroom, ask for a child volunteer. When the child comes forward, ask if he trusts the adults. Then have the adults form a chair by holding hands. The child will sit in the chair. It is nice when we can trust others, just as you want people around you that you can trust, you must also prove yourself trustworthy.

THE TWO PLANTS
Have two plants, one wild and one grown in a pot. Here are two plants, they both grow the same they need soil, water, sunlight. Which plant would you choose if you were going to give someone you loved a plant? Let’s look at these closely, you have this plant that has been grown in a pot, it’s perfect. Then you have this plant that was growing in the wild. It is tall and willowy. This is like our spiritual life. If we don’t read the bible, pray and seek God everyday our life can grow, but it won’t be nice and pretty. If we do what God has instructed us by reading our bibles and praying and seeking God, our lives turn out much more structured.
